Positive and participative attitudes to cooperatives and awareness of their existence are important factors which determine thes development of cooperatives. The greater the' number of people who are aware of the importance of cooperatives for improving the members's welfare, the easier it will be for cooperatives to increase their capital because more and more people become members of cooperatives.
Participative attitudes and a common feeling of belonging to the cooperatives produce creative ideas about how to develop the cooperatives and increase the surplus so that the people 's welfare will improve.
Sikap positif, sadar, dan partisipatif terhadap keberadaan koperasi adalah faktor penting untuk perkembangan perkoperasian. Semakin banyak masyarakat yang sadar akan pentingnya koperasi bagi kesejahteraan tiruana anggota akan semakin simpel bagi koperasi untuk mengembangican modal, alasannya semakin banyak orang masuk menjadi anggota koperasi.
Sikap partisipatif dan perilaku sama-sama mempunyai terhadap koperasi akan menumbuhkan ide-ide kreatif perihal, bagaimana caranya biar koperasinya maju dan SHU-nya banyak, sehingga masyarakat akan memperoleh proteksi yang sanggup mengangkat kesejahteraannya.

Sikap masyarakat yang kurang partisipatif untuk berkoperasi sanggup dipengaruhi oleh kekurang percayaan terhadap kinerja orang lain yang menjadi calon pengelola, pengurus, atau panitia pendirian koperasi yang belum mempunyai track record dalam mengelola usaha, dan banyaknya kasus penipuan yang berkedok penduirian usaha/koperasi.
Faktor kesejahteraan masyarakat yang masih sangat rendah sanggup juga menghambat kesadaran masyarakat untuk berkoperasi. Mereka berpikir untuk mencukupi kebutuhan pokoknya saja masih kurang sehingga tidak ada anggaran dan waktu untuk ikut berkoperasi.
